Ø Clients
of the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) are able to apply for a Canadian
Visa either in person at the CVAC or apply online, visiting the CVAC to submit
their passport and biometrics (if required). Although clients can choose either
option, at this time online visa applicants visiting the CVAC have a
significantly shorter waiting time than those visiting the VAC for regular
applications.
Ø The
hours at the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) for visa application
submission are from 09:00 – 16:00 on weekdays. Clients submitting visa
applications or visiting to give biometrics can arrive at the VAC at any time
during these hours and will often experience shorter waiting times if avoiding
peak hours (09:00 – 12:00).
Ø Please
note that with effect from 19 November 2016, the VAC will no longer be able to
accept the older version of the application forms dated 2010 or older. All
applications submitted on or after 19 November 2016 will need to include the
new version of the forms which can be accessed from our website based on the
purpose of your travel.
Ø The
Electronic Travel authorization (eTA) from Immigration, Refugees and
Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign
nationals (apart from U.S. citizens and other specified exempt travelers)
travelling to Canada by air. The online application is available at www.Canada.ca/eTA

ü The
Canada Visa Application Centres (CVAC) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are
operated by IOM in partnership with VFS Global. This partnership is part of a
contract awarded by the Government of Canada and ensures high quality service
delivery for clients in Viet Nam.
ü At
the CVAC, IOM staff are able to assist with ensuring that applications and
supporting documentation is complete before forwarding the application to the
Canadian Visa Office for review and decision. IOM receives applications for
visitor visas, as well as study & work permits for the Canadian government.
ü The
Visa Application Centers also offer a range of different services to assist
clients in their visa applications to Canada, including assistance with filling
in forms, photocopying and printing facilities.
